Help Me Decide Between Two Plots!

Hello, all! Thank you for following me on my author journey! I am excited to announce that I have been working on an Autumn romcom for some time now. But something strange happened. After I got my feet wet in my cowboy romance era with A Weather Girl’s Guide to Love– which, living in Wyoming, my inspiration is everywhere- I wrote a second version of my Autumn story, where the characters were cowboys and rodeo queens. I am wrestling with which idea is more exciting, so I am asking for your help!

I am still not done with each version, so these storylines will inevitably change here and there, but I have two short synopses that give the vibe of each version.

If you could read each synopsis and vote below which one you find more intriguing:

#1

She’s got glossy nails and a buried past with horses. He’s a former bull rider with a busted back and a pie truck to prove himself. The only thing real about their romance? How fast it’s getting out of hand.

Ginger Hart has a perfectly polished plan-run her cozy nail salon, win over the town’s most eligible horse trainer, Thad Meyer and keep her past as a barrel racer buried where it belongs. Step one? Pretend she doesn’t know how to ride and sign up for “beginner” lessons with Thad.

But when Wyatt Reid, fresh off the bull riding rodeo circuit and new to Maple Haven, catches her in the act- he offers a trade: help him fake a romance to boost his image with local sponsors, and he’ll keep her horse-girl secret to himself.

It’s only supposed to last through the Pumpkin Stampede. Just a few pie tastings, a spin at the barn dance, and a fake date here and there. But the more Ginger gets to know Wyatt, the harder it is to remember what’s pretend… and what’s starting to feel like home.

She’s glossy nails. He’s flaky crust. The pact? Half-baked.

In the quiet town of Maple Haven, autumn isn’t just a season- it’s a celebration.

At The Cozy Cuticle salon, best friends Ginger, Laney, and Blair keep things festive with their signature Pumpkin Spice Pedicure, complete with cozy socks and fall-scented foot scrubs. Ginger Hart is spending the season like she has for the past year: hopelessly crushing on Thad Meyer, the gym bro who communicates in motivational quotes. In her quest for his attention, Ginger’s lost more than a few pounds- maybe, a bit of herself.

As the town gears up for the annual Fall Festival, something (or rather someone) rolls into town in a pumpkin-themed dessert truck parked right outside the salon. Behind the counter? Wyatt Reid. He’s all warm smiles and delicious sweets- basically everything Ginger’s been trying to resist. When she asks Wyatt to pretend to be her boyfriend in an effort to gain Thad’s attention, he agrees…on one sugary-sweet condition.

As leaves crunch and cozy sparks fly, Ginger begins to wonder if God’s sweetest plans aren’t always the ones we bake up ourselves.

I thank you all for your vote, as it greatly helps me in this quest I have to write a faith-filled, heavy banter, spice-free romcom with ALL THE AUTUMN FEELS!!! As I call it, “All Pumpkin, No Spice” ❤

  1. I like the synopsis 1 best since emphasis on the western cowboy elements like ex barrel racer. Love the cover with the horse shoe and cowboy hat. 😊 (Was going to comment on the word press thing but I would have to create an account so nope hahahaa) – Gracie S.
